  1. Plan B is exactly the ingredients in birth control pills, but allowed for the specialized purpose to be sold for one-time dosing without prescription. It also isn't very effective, and part of the delay in allowing OTC sales was the concern that people would think it's more effective than it is.

  2. Hey there,

I believe it is a prescription. If you have a family planning or planned parenthood in your town you can get it very easily, without parents or anyone else knowing. Just look them up online or in the phone book and give them a call, ask what you need to do.

There is also a number, I believe it's a 1800 number you can call and they talk to you and I think send in a prescription to your local pharmacy, without having to be seen by a doctor or anything. So if you're trying to avoid parents, either of these two options would work. But, if you're trying to avoid the pharmacy I'd go to family planning or planned parenthood as they can give it to you right at their office, rather than having to go to the pharmacy (plus it's cheaper).

They may be able to tell you exactly where to go in your area
