Is Planned Parenthood confidential?

I'm 16 and sexaully active. I've been only using the pull-out method for awhile and now I just don't want to take the risk and become pregnant. I'm curious to know if I go to Planned Parenthood for birth control, is it confidential and will they keep my parents from knowing?

My friend (16 at the time) was pregnant, and she first went to planned parenthood, where they took all her information, and confirmed she was pregnant. They didn't tell/call/inform her parents about the news unless she wanted them too.

So I'm guessing it is.

Planned Parenthood is completely confidential whether you're going for your yearly GYN exam, getting birth control, or having an abortion (though for abortions some states require parental consent if you're under 18). Just check out www.plannedparenthood.org and you can find the location nearest you.
