Is Pledge good to use on fine wood furniture?

I've heard Pledge leaves a silicon residue that would ultimately prevent proper refinishing of wood furniture. Is this true? And what is the best alternative way to dust wood furnishings?

You can't go wrong with Old Gold.  Its a little more expensive but totally worth it.
