  1. Try one, I'll bet'cha think it's twice as nice. In your area, see if there's a ' in the water ' boat show. =^ )

  2. THROW THEM BOTH AWAY AND GET  A 2 SEATER HONDA FX 12 , 165 HP TURBO CHARGED ! IT HAS THE MOTOR THEY PUT IN HONDA CIVICS ! 0 TO 60 IN 4 SECONDS . IT ALSO HAS THE BEST RELIABILITY OF ALL OF THEM !

  3. I have had poor Luck with Polaris, and Yamaha is the KING of waverunners.  You want fast get the new 2008 FX SHO.  yamaha claims it out acellerates a New Corvette on water from 0-40mph.

  4. Before you buy check your local repair facility's, in the Baton Rouge area shop,s don't like working on Polaris because of the difficulty of the repair on 4 wheeler's, I don't know about the jet skies but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

  5. Polaris is out of business with JetSkis as of 2006.  You will find dealers with Polaris' in stock and may find a great deal.  You should have no problem with service due to the many dealers and technicians.

Yamaha, for the money, is a great jetski.  However, Yamaha is often not "salt water" ready if the ocean is in your sights.  They do offer a conversion for approximately $800.  Basically, the exhaust system in converted from steal to stainless steal.

Seedoo, however, is the very best in jetskis, and expensive when comparing.  They have the heaviest "hull" and I can assure you, are unsinkable because I own one and do everything amagineable with it.

I don't know much and have never ridden a Honda but anyone that has owned or used talk highly of these.  Check Honda as well.  I do have a close friend that owns a Honda out of state.  He visited and rode my SeeDoo.  Of course, I have the 215 HP that flies and he said he had to have one.

A few notes when purchasing:  Insure the unit has a "oil shut off" if you should flip.  Newer Yamaha's and all SeeDoo's have this feature.  It maintains the oil in case of a "flip" in the oil well.

At boat shows you can save a "boat load" of money.  JetSkis are often sold close to cost and never purchase your "first pass" from a dealer at a show.  Make your rounds, look at all, then make your "hit".  It will be fun for you, and easy, to have all dealer's trying for your business from huge discounts, free delivery, free trailers (approx. $600 to $900), extended warranties, etc.  Best time to buy at a boat show is last two hours of last day but go the day before so you know your course of action.

Often, jetskis are sold with only one key.  Keys can cost as much as $50, so insure you negotiate an extra key in the deal.

Remember, all jetski manufacturer's REQUIRE their oil.  They all put a colored die to distinguish their oils and if you take for service or warranty service a technician will VOID the warranty if an alien oil is used.  I am telling you this because a quart of jetski oil is expensive and you will be tempted to use other brands, DO NOT DO THIS!

Good Luck.  JetSkis are a BLAST if you get "enough power".  I would not get anything less than 175 HP and you will appreciate this "tip" the more you ride.  Always check to insure the year of manufacture.  This is found in the VIN located right rear and is last two numbers indicated.
