Is Port Elizabeth, South Africa a dangerous city for tourists like Johannesburg?

I will be studying abroad in South Africa next spring (in Port Elizabeth) and I am wondering if it is considered to be safe or if it is just as dangerous as Johannesburg and Cape Town are known to be?

Most crime in any country is avoidable if one is vigilant as is the case in SA. I would say you don't have much to worry about, you'll be surprised at how similar SA is to the rest of the world.

it depends on what you mean dangerous!

If you are good to the people there there is nothing to be afraid of.

After all those years they can accept that we are all equal and we are trying to give rights to everyone . though they dont have money and they feel that they have no rights... Just be careful and enjoy it if you go
