Porto Seguro is a tourist destination. It's the first place that Pedro Alvares Cabral, the man who "discovered" Brazil, set foot on Brazilian land.

If you work with tourism, it is probably a good place to live.

It is awesome for tourism. If you have lots of money it's a great place to live (like anywhere). If you need to get a job  you should know that the economy over there is based on tourism and fishing, nothing else.

Porto Seguro is a touristic beach place in the state of Bahia, not a big city. I guess work there is basically connected with tourism.  It's a casual small village with very beautiful beaches and all sorts of accommodations; from very plain to very sophisticated. In summer time it gets hundreds of tourist, but now we are heading into winter.There's another village near by called Trancoso, also very nice.
