Is Prince Fielder a free agent after this season?

I'm pretty sure he is because i remember he signed a 1 year contract before this season. So shouldn't he be?

  2.       I would seriously doubt that the brewers wont resign him, but there's always that possibility. Although my final guess will be that the brewers will resign him.

    And finnaly to answer your question he will be a free agent but I cant see the Brewers giving up such a great talent.

  4. Fielder will have a little over three years of major league service at the end of the 2008 season. He will be eligible for arbitration and is sure to get a healthy raise, but the Brewers command his rights for at least another three seasons.

    Given that his agent is Scott Boras, who practically never allows his clients to sign contracts that buy out early years of free agency, look for Fielder to hit the market after the 2011 season. The only way he goes free agent before then is if the Brewers release him, and I don't expect that will happen.

  5. I think the one year contract he signed was more of an arbitration type one.  I think the Brewers still have control over him for at least 2 more years.  He may be too expensive to keep though.
