  1. Legality in NV varies by town.

  2. Nevada is one of only two U.S. states that allow some legal prostitution; in most of its counties, brothels are legalized and heavily regulated. (In Rhode Island, the act of s*x for money is not illegal, but street solicitation, and operation of a brothel, are.)

  3. your country does not know what it wants . no central govt or cohesion

    it is just a guess

  4. Nevada has no state law on the subject, but has left it to the individual counties.  A few rural counties have elected to allow regulated brothels.  The urban areas have not.  No county has ordinances that allow unregulated street walking.

  5. Sorry, your brother is correct.  Prostitution is not legal throughout the state, and is only legal in brothels (not to be confused with street prostitution) and outside of a brothel it is  considered a misdemeanor.  Any county with a population under 400,000 can license a brothel if it so chooses.  Ironically, Clark County (aka Las Vegas) is the only county with a population in excess of 400,000, therefore making brothels illegal in Vegas.

The state legislature wanted to encourage good clean tourism to Vegas so they thought this would help control the rampant prostitution in the casinos.

  6. Some counties it is legal, some not (including Vegas).  Some places look the other way, like many cities in the US, and only crack down when politically expedient.  It's the world's oldest profession for a reason...

  7. While there are many prostitutes who walk the streets to do their business (or maybe they’re just tourists walking back to their hotels from clubs who’re mistaken as prostitutes), this is not legal in Nevada. Prostitutes must work at licensed brothels. Brothels are only legal in counties of less than 400,000 citizens

To run a brothel, fees must be paid ranging from $200 per year in Lander County all the way to $100,000 per year in Storey County. Prostitutes must be at least 21-years-old (or 18 in Storey and Lyon counties) and must be checked weekly for STDs. Condoms are mandatory at all brothels and prostitutes are tested monthly for HIV.

Since mandatory HIV tests began in 1986, no prostitute from a brothel has ever tested positive for HIV. That’s good for the customer and the brothel because according to Nevada state law, brothels are held liable if any of their customers become HIV positive.

Brothels don’t typically have set prices, but the cheapest you’ll find is about $100 per half hour. Once a customer enters a brothel, the prostitutes introduce themselves and the customer chooses which one he wants, much like buying a car or a brand of toilet cleaner. Before he gets into her panties, the lady and gentleman negotiate the price they will pay and then they get on with it. The prostitute usually keeps half of the money she receives and the rest goes to the brothel.
