k. I know i may get some biased answers here. But my reasoning is pretty simple. A lot of the stuff we learn know a days it man made. Business for example is what we as a society created and thats what where using. Math and science aren't man made but they don't always directly affect us especially that we haven't made a lot of discoveries yet (as compared to what we can know [and yes i know neither did psychology]. Its just we use our brain but don't understand dhow and why, kind of seems ironic to me

P.S. Im not a psychologist or a student studying psychology

  1. No,it is the least important because it has a godless foundation.

  2. I beg to differ (not completely, but I think he's taking it to easy), I think that everyone should have an understanding of psychology at a fundamental level. Understanding psychology is paramount to understanding the problems were dealing with as a species. I hate individuals that assume just because a science is going in the right direction it's taking the right steps. Something that if the general public understood would help to fix the mis-steps. As it is, psychology is a broken science, its divide amongst its own self into multiple disciplines. This should be understood because its a direct result of the fallacy of language and our ability to communicate feelings. He say's chemical imbalance, I say chronic stress disorder. Both of us are right, but the fact remains people should understand why, were both right. That aside, all people could benefit more from being jack of all trades, and masters of nothing...... then we could have power to check our sciences, as oppose to our sciences checking us. Also, realize, that science is were man reaches for god, while religious is our assumption of him reaching for us. In other words, its deeper then your seeing, but at the sametime, its us baby, it's us all the f'in way. Without man, there is no science, there just is.....

O yea, also need to be versed in sociology, alot of problems stem from the fact we haven't connected these sciences well.

  3. I don't believe that individuals need to understand psychology in order to be successful, productive, happy...

However, we do need professionals who can learn and apply the concepts of psychology to ones who suffer from chemical imbalances or environmental pressures which tend to induce mental dysfunction.

And, I do agree to a point that if we did understand the subtle nuances of thought and behavior, we could function at a different cognitive and/or behavior level.

But, in reality, all of us cannot be experts in every field.  Sometimes, we must rely on professionals to help us make it through the night.
