Is Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, the import port for Ecuador?

For any import to Ecuador, is it necessary to stop by Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and transfer to Ecuador? If so, what is the port in Ecuador?

No.  The main port for Ecuador is Guayaquil.

There are other ports as well, Puerto Bolívar, Portuaria de Manta, and

Aduana.  But Guayaquil is the largest and most important.  See the sources for more information.
