Yes. Just found out a few days ago. I wanted to move to the Dominican Republic but somone told me Puerto Rico is better because its part of the US and has more jobs and I looked it up today online so, yes it is. I am now planning to move to Puerto Rico.

We are a organized and un-incorpored territory of the USA (for all practical means a colony although many in USA and PR object the use of that term).

According to the US Supreme Court a territory "belongs" to the USA but it is not a "part" of the USA.

Your clothes "belongs" to you, they are not "part" of you as your feet are.

What would the US fathers think of the they country formed when the 13 colonies declared independence from England is now the last nation that owns colonies?

Yes, it is part of Puerto Rico, but it is not a state.  I'm pretty sure that it is a territory.

Puerto Rico is  a Commonwealth of the USA  so we are Part of the USA but NOT a State...
