I know this for a fact. (And I googled it.) Puerto Rico is closer to Mexico, because it is a part of Mexico. It is in the lower region, close to San Juan.

To answer your question, Puerto rico is closer to Florida than to Mexico. To the person that said Puerto Rico is part of Mexico, if I knew where you are I would go there and beat your butt for saying such a stupid thing, IDIOTA. To punkin18, the island`s northeast is the Atlantic ocean, but to the west and south it`s the Caribbean sea. In other words most of the island is in the Caribbean.

It is closer to Florida. Puerto Rico is in the Atlantic Ocean, included in the chain of islands to the south east. By the Dominican Rupublic. Have you ever heard of Google Earth, it is a free download and is really awesome. Sorry Yahoo.
