  1. If I read the right article, (about US anti-missile defence system in Poland), I think that Putin has a right to assume that the system would be used against Russia if tensions increase.  If I was him my retaliation would be setting "missile defense system" in Cuba.  Which probably will happen if US continues with their plan and sets up their system in Poland.

Also isn't it ironic that US supported secession of Kosovo from Serbia, but won't condone separation of Ossetia from Georgia.  This is just payback from Russia because Western Powers have been "bulling" the world for last few decades.

  2. Putin's invasion of Georgia is very similar to Hitler's invasion of the Sudetenland.

Hitler's excuse for the invasion of the Sudetenland was to protect German Citizens living in the Sudetenland.

Putin's excuse for the invasion of Georgia was to protect Russian Citizens living in Georgia.

The real reason for the invasion of Georgia probably has to do with the oil pipleline that runs through Georgia.

that oil pipeline competes with the Russian pipelines.

This is probably a war for such a mundane purpose as shutting down the comnpetition.

What is clear is that Russia had been massing troops and military equipment on the Georgian border for months in preparation for in invasion.

the invasion of Georgia was planned many months ago and has nothing to do with protecting Russian Citizens.

  3. yes

    the cycle is on

and this time we are letting it happen

  4. In short no! Putin is a typical Russian warmongering ****ole. Hitler was fighting against French occupation of Germany. Read Mein Kampf, that will give you a greater insight into the life and motivation of Adolf Hitler. The only thing Putin has in common with Hitler is he is also an assh*le..

  5. You betcha.  He will get more and more aggressive as he 'gets away with' his invasions.  A one time wipe out ALL of his tanks and vehicles with UAV's tank killers would be a quick way to refocus him.  All in one night with the pinpoint accuracy that we have learned from Iraq.  Before he kills and rapes and destroys our Georgian friends.

  6. Please read up about fascism and pre-hitler Germany. There are more parallels to the Bush White House than Russia particularly brutal form of capitalism. The Germans suffered the same loss of rights after the burning of the Reichstag as we have since 9/11.

Putin's government is more of a oligarchy...where a few rich families control a rapacious economic model with few restraints.

  7. The similarities are pretty obvious to all except those who are anti-Democracy.

  8. no - not even close

  9. Facism and Communism are almost polar opposites. BUT, Putin is kind of following in Hitler's path. Invading a country. Very authoratative. Especially for a "democracy" He has a massive military, and he is allied with China and Iran. Iran = highly volatile. and China will follow Russia.

  10. If we don't learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. Putin is power hungry and views Europe as a chessboard.

  11. Well he sure seems to be looking for any excuse that will allow russia to invade all the members of the old soviet union. I would expect things to boil over fairly soon and for open conflict between the US and Russia to start sometime in the next few weeks

  12. Actually communism and fascism are not that different. Hitler and Stalin were at one time allies. And yes, it seems that current Russian government is very authoritarian.

  13. Yup
