  2. No - I don't think he's as clueless but he's a slow learner. He has a rotation policy which is fine for fringe players but the core of the team should remain stable i.e. Carra, Gerrard, Torres, Reina.

    He finally went through a period of ensuring these key players were regularly picked and results improved.

    Some of his purchases have been poor but no where near as bad as Houlliers. Remember £14M for Cisse - todays equivalent of £20M?

    Having said all that, there are plenty of reasons for you to believe (as you seem to) that Rafa and Houllier are the same breed - so I see where you're coming from.

  3. Benitez actually led Liverpool to a Champions League win with a load of Houllier's players. Do you really think that mediocre players like Traore and Biscan would have won their medals under any other manager in the world?
