I do not think so. But, after his performances this year, he definitely took some strides to proclaim one of the greatest player to play the sport of Tennis. I would like to see what people think about him in this regard.

  1. what a dumb question.

  2. Have you forgotten about a guy named Roger Federer?  Nadal is currently the best tennis player, but he has a long way to go to catch up to Roger.  Federer was just ranked #1 for the past 4 years.

Until this year, the only major Nadal had won was the French Open.  Now he's won Wimbledon also, but he still needs to win the Australian and US Open before he can be considered one of the greats of all time.

Roger Federer and Pete Sampras are ahead of him, but we'll see if Nadal can catch them.  I think his style of tennis is too physical and it takes a toll on his body, he already has bad knees and his feet are always torn up by blisters towards the end of every tournament.  He definitely has the talent to be an all-time great, but it'll depend on if his body can hold up for the next few years.

  3. No. I just do not see him dominating like Pete or Roger. He has Novak and Rog clipping at his heels. Don't get me wrong, he def. deserves to be number 1 this year, but I really want to see how he is going to hold up. His vigorous playing style is taxing on his young body and plays tournament with his knees taped up. Roger was number 1 for 4 1/2 years due to his efficient playing style the kept him health and injury free,I don't see Rafa doing the same.

  4. greatest player to play the sport of tennis??  its kinda way to early for him to be called that

  5. He is one of the greatest players and is certainly the best athlete to grace the sport, But there have been better players in terms of pure talent. Nadal is an amazing shot maker and everything but the likes of Federer is and Borg was better.

Time will tell if Nadal will be the most successful, But Rafa for me goes down as one of the very best players but is not quite the very best. I still think Federer and Borg are better players(even though Borg was before my time)

  6. Hahaha... Somehow I don't think that this is a serious question.  He is a very good player, but nowhere close to being the greatest player to play.  Some people still don't consider Sampras the greatest ever, even though his achievements and dominance should prove so.

  7. No. Not even close yet. Federer and Sampras are probably on top of that list. Agassi, McEnroe, Laver and Newcombe dominated the sport more than Nadal has. Maybe one day we can include Nadal in the list, but definitely not yet.

  8. not yet.  but it looks like he's getting there!

i'm a rafa fan by the way.

  9. u could say it

  10. We can say he is the hottest player this year, but not the greatest to ever play.  He is basically just starting, he just became the #1 player in the world and we don't know for how long he'll be in that position. Federer was there for a record 237 weeks in a row!  That's a stat that can give you the title of the greatest of all time, but not 1 week. Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver, John Mc Enroe, Ivan Lendl, Arthur Ashe, Martina Navratilova are players to consider for that title. But let's give Nadal a couple of years and see how he does.
