I have been making my own mix of food and I dont think I want to continue because its really hard to get everything right and I'm ordering Regal rat food online for then and its on the way but I also want a mix for variety so what do you think is a good mix for my rats? Reggie Rat? Nutriphase? Any other suggestions? What do you feed your rats?

  1. Theirs way better foods out there but it's ok.

  2. i feed my rats on reggie rat. they seem to like it.

  3. Both Reggie Rat and Nutriphase are poor quality foods. Honestly, Regal Rat is the only good quality rat food on the market at the moment.

Why not feed Regal Rat and a little homemade mix? Since Regal Rat is already complete, you don't need all the ingredients for a mix like Suebee's.

You could feed Regal Rat and, say, a mix of dry rolled oats, puffed wheat cereal, puffed rice cereal, dried pasta, and a few sunflower seeds. Your rats will very likely pick around the Regal Rat and eat the mix though. You're going to have to show a little tough love and leave them with only the Regal Rat once they finish off the mix around it so that they eat it. Don't give any more mix until they've eaten their staple.

  4. Since Reggie Rat is a seed mix feed, I would suggest supplementing it with fruits and veggies.

I feed my rats Harland Teklad blocks along with fruits and veggies as treats. They are very good for rats as well and can be bought online for a good price.
