Is Religion The Root of All Evil?

Or is it money? Or a combination of the two?

What war has there been which has not been fought over religion or riches?

If we got rid of both would the world be better off?

Ignorance is the root of all evil.  Religious corruption is only a fraction of evil.  Depends on how you manage your money. Money can be used to do good or bad.  It is your choice.  It starts with ignorance.

Without religion man will become animals. Actions based on selfish motives and physical instincts.The world has changed or has been changed to more materialistic. People are made to forget death and they behave as if they are going to live in this world for ever. Humans have the unique feature to think and then act. Intelligence of men is boon as long as it is used properly. The same can become a problem like HIV, Nuclear Bombs, Terrorism, Climatic Effect etc. This feature should be governed by some universal laws which is called religion. Man is losing the power to think due to he is neglecting His Creator and inventing false religions.

Too often they are intertwined. I have a healthy respect for people who believe in God, but I have absolutely no respect for religions. I regard religion as a disease. Sure, many people have done great things by believing in God, and I'm very grateful for them, but there have been too many atrocities committed in the name of God and religion.

So, my verdict, get rid of religion. The belief in God can stay, but not religion.

No war was ever fought simply over religion, religion is used as excuse, but it is not the reason.

excess of everything is bad wheather it religion or else. since it is not possible to be in world without having a name( for identification) simillarly it is not possible for any one to be neutral. polarisation or grouping or whatsoever u may call it is part and parcel of our being human. before birth we r placed in a particular religion. religion it self is not root of evil religin means DHARAM or CODE OF CONDUCT which we have to obey if all obey their religion honestly no matter of conflict.so far i think no religion say to dishonour others belief. so it is human nature which consist of two part GOOD and BAD and it is the BAD responsible for the root of of all evil. at the same it is also truth that BAD is the other side of a coin. very little story or novel have been written without a vilon character.
