  2. Rewards1, and companies of the like are NOT scams.  However, I heavily researched the different sites and found lots of bad user reviews for Rewards1.  I ended up going with yourfreeistuff.com and have been very happy.  Keep in mind these are not 100% free.  Nothing is, and you will have to use a credit card.  That said, getting an iPhone for $20 is a sweet deal.  People claiming no credit card required will provide a link saying something like "Follow this link to get into a hacked site where you can get things with no credit card".  The link they provide is simply their referral link so you sign up and help their referral count.  I joined a Conga Line to help with getting referrals.

Personally, I had trouble getting friends to sign up.  Conga lines work well, but most are long.  There's a new, low-key Conga group on Facebook that moves fast, right now there's only two people besides the Conga leader in line.  On Facebook, join the group called Shortest TRAINN Conga Line Around.  You can also do Multi-referrals there, which allow you to skip way ahead in line.  Offering that encourages more referrals as people want their stuff fast and first.  I'm working on my second reward now, only took me two weeks to get my first reward using this Conga group.  :)

If you haven't joined this program yet, it'll cost you about $10 (to do one referral for someone, it's not *completely free.  Nothing worth anything is!)) then you wait for people behind you in the line to do the same for you!

If you need to sign up for the rewards program, and you thought this info was helpful, please sign up through my link!  :)
