Question:

Is Rickie Weeks just a late bloomer in MLB too?

From what I've heard, it took Rickie a while to get better in the High School and College levels. Is it that way in the majors too, or does he just suck?

  1. This isn't funny, Rickie is sick. He has been diagnosed w/ Corey Patterson Syndrome. They originally thought he had Mario Mendozaitis but at least Mario could field the ball.

  2. I think you have no idea what you're talking about :)

  3. He just sucks:D

  4. He was moved way too quickly through the minors. Spent less then a year in the farm after being drafted. He needed more time to develop his power and bat control. His lack of confidence lead him to be a pretty bad defender. Confidence is his problem. Unfortunately, he's out of options and can't go back to the minors to regain it. But he's still young. Wait for him in a couple years at the age most players reach their prime. His frame is ideal for a baseball player and he could be one of the best combos of power and speed.

  5. no he just sucks.

he doesnt have that many errors but when a hot shot comes at him he just tries everything in his power to get out of the way

  6. Rickie has his moments. Right now I have a non-fail idea for Yost. Put Rickie in 2 games then Ray in for 1, Rickie in again for 2 and keep alternating. Rickie just can't produce 3 games in a row. But he's good for 2 then gets fired up when Ray plays and comes back in for another 2 good outings.

Yost sticks to his favorite players and doesn't relent and I think for a long time he was hand in hand with Rickie. He did the same thing with Turnbow, who, for lack of a better word sucked.

  7. He had a strong rookie campaign before he got injured(i think he broke his wrist).  He is a 5-tooled player.  Its just taking him time to get things going since his rookie year.

I dont know, Im still a big fan of him and I still beleive he can turn out to be a Ian Kinsler type of hitter.  Kinsler didnt come hitting rite away when he joined the majors either.
