  1. its a good area if u like the city, if u like peace and quiet then u might not like it. about safety issues, its ok as long as u have a car and drive at night (not walk by yourself in dark areas), there is no problem.

  2. I go to UPR but in Mayaguez Campus, because I never wanted to go to Rio Piedras. Some are used to it, but I personally don't like it. The Rio Piedras Campus is the main Campus, therefore, there's more students in the area, there's a train station, which is good, but most students in the area live in surrounding areas, so most of them walk, but a lot of them bring their cars, I've heard parking is a problem over there, but in general PR has parking problems everywhere, we're overpopulated, even more in places such as Rio Piedras, traffic is like h**l, but its not so bad if you don't need a car. But UPR is great, and in Rio Piedras you'll have a great time regardless of the mayhem. PS that campus is well known for its politically motivated student strikes, so be prepared to loose some class days or even weeks.

  3. The University is excellent and there are several campuses across the country. Now, being in the metropolitan area there will be more incidence of criminality at Rio Piedras than Cayey for example. Nothing to worry about, really.

  4. It is a very good one and in a relatively good area.. and still a very affordable University.

  5. You will like Rio Piedra AND the University... I assume you DO speak, read and write fluent Spanish.

When I lived in S.J. (Calle del Sol) I loved it and I'm thinking about taking the boat back to Puerto Rico in the future if I can ever tear myself away from Antigua.
