  1. Of course he is the man for the job he is a great captain, beside who else is even capeable of doing it right now, noone!

  2. Ritchie should stay as our captain, just need the other players to back him up specially the more senior ones

  3. d**n right.

  4. YES

  5. Ritchie is a specialist No 7. Captaincy should be shared and for me it would be Flynn/Carter as demonstrated in best Crusaders  games last season.

  6. naaaaaaaaaaa. i think kevin mealamu would be fannnnnnnntastic!

  7. Richie is a good solid player! but a captain he is not, however in saying that we lack good leadership and expierience in the AB's with the mass exodus overseas so I would run with Richie for one more season.. with two things being of interest in the next year, will Latimer or anyone else for that matter push to be the top No.7 in the country, and secondly do we have another leader in the AB's that will put his hand up?

  8. The NZ media over reacted to the All Blacks losing the world cup so much. They were beaten by two points and those two points came from a horrible refereeing decision. They would've won if it wasn't for that decision. The media are acting as if they lost to Nambia by over 100 points the way they are dramatising it. They should keep Richie McCaw as captain.

  9. Ritchie should be kept in the captain slot. He leads the team well and always keeps a cool head. He also helps his fellow players over the try line in games.

  10. when he was made cap. i thought you beauty, then he allowed himself to be dropped for a following test, that to me is deplorable, if i was cap. and was told you are to be dropped in favour of another, i would have told management "stick the job." no he shouldn't be captain

  11. the abs have lost the passion and traditions of previous ab sides, they are no longer feared especially by the french!

ritchie will continue tb cap good luck to him.

  12. If anything there is only one answer . Good kings only become great kings if they can learn from their mistakes if Ritchie is still playing footy as the best there is at his position and he still wants the captaincy then he is the best for the job. Who else fits the mold remembering the cap job holds with it the possibility of overburdening a player who perhaps does not require the limelight that goes with it. You need an inspirational leader who does his job well who tackles like a Demon and leeds from the front as a benchmark able to turn the tide  . Until then Ritchie's the man!!! . His main downfall is he doesnt seem to have the mongrel shrewdness of say a Fitzpatrick with his buisness like approah to captaincy . I do think Graham Henry had his chance and Robbie deans should have had his turn  . The real reason we haven't won another world cup is because of selection brainfreeze! we haven't always sent the best players for our captains to deal with. I mean who in their right mind would go off to win a world cup and leave a perfectly fine Andrew Merhtens sitting at home twiddling his thumbs while Carlos Spencer was more worried about prancing around like a peacock on the world stage bombing all our possession away . The same with the last one. Leaving Players such as the calibre of Rico Gear a born wing and centre3/4 and Troy Flavell whose form pre world cup was heroic to say the least in favour of the robotic quiet grafter Reuben Thorne. Old meathead Kelleher should in my opinion have been left at home as well !!. The rotation policy is a myth dating from the mitchell era that should have become outlawed with the changing of the guard it premotes short term effectiveness but is at best a gamble ,it dilutes the aura of the all blacks so in turn what happens ?? Everyone who gets to become an All Black has been there done that and now is off to earn their retirement fund in Europe instead of aspiring to hold onto their positions . That carrot unfortunatly has been taken away and will continue to eat away at NZ rugby like a cancer until a coach comes along who has the balls to change it . Let the players hunger for the black jersey again.!!...................................

  13. as a kiwi i think hes a bit soft,we didnt worry too much about the captancy cause the ALLBLACKS rarely lose, but that quarter final at the last world cup he was quiet and didnt assert any authority and didnt react to a plan B when it was needed. There needs to be change and Mcaw has had his day

  14. Put it this way, who's good enough to replace him.

Ritchie's still the man to do the job. Lets look at a ABs management team along with the NZRU who should all carry the can for the World Cup debacle.

To blame McCaw is taking the burden of failure where it rightly belongs off the Coaches and dumping it on McCaw.

Ritchie stays, in a perfect world, Henry and the NZRU council would have got the flick and Deans would be basking in the glory of being the new All Black coach. Unfortunately we are left dealing with an bitter tasting defeat and no rightful accountability.
