in my opinion, no he isn't. Rooney is a workhorse up the front. Robinho is just goin to beat players and take shots that usually dont go in.

I don't think so. Robinho just stands and does his tricks and nothing more. But Ronney works hard and always tries to help the defence. He is always in motion .

Look man, the two are incomparable, you dig! Robinho is an attacking midfilder, usualy on the wing while Rooney is a striker and usual a lone striker. So we cannot base the comparison on goal scoring ability. Depends on who they play for, what the coaches expect from each player and the skill level with which they execute their asignments.

1. Rooney plays for Man U and they usually play a 4-5-1 system with Rooney being the lone striker. He's expected to creat chances and take the odd one. Tevez and Ronaldo were marvelous last season. 1 to Rooney. Robinho plays for Madrid in a 4-4-2 formation where he's expected to create chances for Raul and Ruud. I think Ruud and Raul have been top scorers combined for the past two seasons so Robinho does well to create opportunities when he gets to play. 1 to Robi

2. Rooney is a rugged English style football, minimal skill, lots of courage and determination. While Robinho has plenty of skill and flair but lacks courage at times and real fighting spirit. 1 to Rooney 0 to Robi.

Overall, Rooney is more valuable because he has much more to offer and he plays a favourable position in todays footballing dynamics. But if I had a striker as half deadly as Rooney, I'd take Robinho any day. Depends on what you are looking for in a player that determines their worth!

2 different players Rooney works hard and contributes greatly Robinho is a glamer goat that is playing on a team that does not suit him and if he was not a money w***e he would leave that club.

fact is Robinho could be called better but Rooney works better with what he has and produces more so basically that's my view.
