I watched him this morning and it basically confirmed to me what i thought all year long. That he's not the same guy he was last year is his dominance done he most likely won't have the world #1 ranking in a few weeks and he' been on a downward spiral all year long

  1. NO

Federer is going through a slump. Through defeats at the French open and Wimbledon, Federer has lost focus. Especially, the most significant defeat was at wimbledon. When Federer lost at Wimbledon, he CRIED. He was very emotional. After the wimbledon defeat, federer has had numerous defeats to various other ranked players that he rarely lost in the past.

I don't feel that federer is going to retire anytime soon. He still has a good 4 years ahead of himself. After all, he has 12 grandslam titles. He only needs to win 2 more grandslam titles to match Pete Sampras's record of 14 grandslam titles. Once he surpases Sampras's grand slam record, then believers and critics will realize that: FEDERER IS FOR REAL.

Presently, Federer should watch ROCKY 3. He needs to get back the EYE OF THE TIGER. If Federer can re-focus himself for the US OPEN, then he has a shot at winning the championship. Most importantly, Federer needs to regain his CONFIDENCE.

  2. No,he's in a slump. The best players go through them.

  3. Perhaps. Cant really say lets wait and see how he does at the US Open.

  4. yeah he should retire with grace

  5. He's having a rough patch right now...

  6. Well, he is certainly not done.  however, he is definitley getting there. his highest point in his career is clearly done and he will no longer improve each year.  I think he should retire in 2 years.  By than, he will not be able to compeat at the highest level and will be ranked 18th or so.  That's my prediction.  Federer is beast but I've always been a nadal fan, its nice to see somebody else win.

  7. It depends on what you mean by done.  I agree that he won't be as dominant as he once was now that Nadal and even Djokovic have emerged.  But, I still think Roger will win at least 3 more slams and break Pete's record.  He just won't win 20 slams like I thought he would coming into the start of this year.  He looked unstoppable.

  8. h**l no!

    He is far from done.

He'll come back as strong as ever!

He's my tip for the US Open - now that people are doubting him more than ever he'll be seriously pumped up to prove people wrong!

The greatest player of all time doesn't just finish winning in 1 season.

He'll be back - mark my words!

  9. i think your right when you said his dominance is done, hes clearly not the player he used to be.  But he is still a great player, and as his ranking goes down, he'll be a dangerous player to have to play in a slam.

  10. yeah hes done- wont win another match. ever.

yeah ***** do u think this is an original question?? funnily enuf i dont think anyone on YA will actually have the anwer to you. Cos noone can predict the future.

  11. U know what, first of all he is a great champion and great champions never die.  I truly believe he is in a slump, not focused something else is going on in his life.  I heard he started seeing another gal but Mirka put a stop to that.  Maybe its time to cut Mirka loose.  I dont know the answer really, he needs to get his focus back, his game is still in his pocket, but he's not focused on using it. He seems somewhere else right now.

Honestly, I dont believe we've seen the last.  He's strong minded and will work it out.  He needs his confidence back along with his focus.

  12. anyone remember Tiger's slump in 03-04?
