  1. i hope dat this is just a bad yr but i FEAR dat he is gettin washed away!!

  2. Just a bad year and the law of averages catching up at the worst time.

Any doubts about his skills should be clarified after his gold doubles victory. Federer was playing great with no pressure on him. He's under way too much pressure in singles having to live upto a lot of expectations. I think once he sorts things out, he'll be back.

  3. He's slowly washing up.

  4. He's definitely past his best years.

It' tough being at the top for so long. You can only go in one direction and that's down. His fans have been spoiled by his winning record.

He is having a bit of an off year though. Nadal is improving his game on all surfaces and Federer has lost a bit of confidence after his big losses to him this year.

It's going to be a tough road for Federer to get his game back on track. It's not just Nadal getting better but Novak is knocking at the door as well.

  5. Just a bad year. The best player in the world (even though he's not No.1 anymore) would not go away that easily. I recall him saying how he believed to be at the top of his game last year and how he planned on playing for many years to come. I think he still has some unfinished work, like winning the French and beating the Grand Slam record. He's a brilliant player, so dont expect many more matches like the bad days you've seen him play this year.

  6. Roger Federer is more or less having a bad year for me cuz I believe that he can still do more. He needs time to compose himself for losing almost all his titles (Im not sure about the US open). He looks like he's depressed cuz he said that wimbledon is his home so I think that that could affect him in the upcoming US open. I think he lost to Blake in the olympics is because he is, as i said, depressed or affected due to his loses. Though, I think he could still do some wins. He needs only 3 Granslams to beat Sampras's record so I think at least he's just having a bad year of some sort. On the other hand, he IS getting a little old and his opponents are so much younger than him, maybe that also affects him.

  7. just a bad year... but, Federer's bad year almost looks like Nadal's best year lol....

  8. I think he is having both.  He is not very lucky right now.  He is having a bad year (for him) and he is declining at the same time.  After next year in 2010, I think he is not going to be a force to be reckoned with anymore.  Personally, I think Nadal is going to pass Federer's number of Grand Slams.

  9. bad year

  10. I think at some point after you have proven you are one of the true greats it gets to be natural to care a little less about the game.

I wouldn't take the Olympics loss to Blake as a big thing, tho,  Many of the entrants would rather be anywhere than there, but it wouldn't be PC of them.

I hope the loss to Nadal at Wimbledon rouses him, but we'll see.

  11. I don't think he just having a bad year. For a No.1 player in the world,Roger's performance is quiet disappointing this year. But Nadal is pretty good,he is much younger than Roger ,he is becoming much more mature than before, and the most important thing is,now, he is not only the king on the clay court, but also very good at playing on the grass.

  12. He's doing great in doubles.  So i guess he just needs to get his confidence back.  He has to do it real fast tho bec nadal is picking up where Federer has left off.  And if Federer doesnt watch it, he'll have a hard time catching up with Nadal.  Unless Nadal gets himself injured.  Which may be unlikely as Nadal is getting wiser in managing his tennis schedules.

Then again, it's tennis, so anytihing could happen.
