I always think about Oscar Romero, who was a bishop in El Salvador who spoke out against human rights abuses and was an advocate for the poor and oppressed. He was eventually assassinated and is now honoured as a saint. There was a movie made about him and he is the one I think of when I hear that name, even more than the film director.

So... I would say Romero is a very honourable name.

Normally the names post on here are a load of c**p like Pikachu and I leave answers like yeah, that's the best name ever. But, honestly I actually really like the name Romero, it's spanish.

what is up with you and naming your poor son after a video game character.  Romero is a nice name, but seriously! you have asked three questions, about three different video game names for your son!  If you want to name something after a character, get a pet!  You shoul be taking parenting a little more seriously!

People will always ask if he was named in homage to the famous film director. They might also assume misspellings/mispronunciations and call him Romeo.
