The term ‘genius’ is branded around all too often these days – particularly in sport. The likes of Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton and Mozart are notable geniuses of the last millennium, but can sport stars be coined by the same term for their exploits?
If they can, then O’Sullivan would certain be included in that top bracket. His accuracy, placement and speed is unrivalled by anyone who has ever picked up a snooker cue before. A snooker genius, yes. A genius full-stop, it’s debatable.
