Is Russia's attack on Georgia an attempt to humiliate the US?

Georgia has 2,000 troops in Iraq making it the third largest prescene in Iraq behind the UK and the US-the Russians seem to be saying "you have been sucking the USA's *** and look at how quick they are coming to help you...ha ha" every station except FOX has seemed to pick up on this.....last report over 1,000 non-combatants killed by Russia....if they were sitiing on oil we would help them....Bush makes me sick...

I assure you that the USA is not that important to these two countries. They would not declare war against each other just to humiliate the US. They are going to war because of what is going on with a region between these two countries and has nothing to do with us.

some of these other poster need to get a clue.  georgia owns south osettia.  and russians rebels refused to leave their country.  this would be like citizens of texas claiming a province of mexico as theirs and saying that it is only because a bunch of texas citizens used to live there and they just want a piece of there land to become a part of texas.  and OQ(original questioner) georgia is sitting on oil moron!  that could be part of the reason russia has moved into the capital now.

ADD:  and do u think no action would be taken against the texans who occupy the province?

no. it is an attempt to regain control over their former dominions and satellites.  Russia has the support of many high-up Democrats who are willing to appease Russia in this, *ostensibly* in order to get Russia to cooperate with the US in sanctioning Iran, but I think it's also because many Eastern European countries think the "world citizen" "open society" touted by the figurehead Obama is a crock; they don't want parallel societies in their midst, and are a proud, tough obstacle to the New Order.

The United States is the one to blame for all of this.USA is trying to set up military bases,anti missiles,and so on in an area that has been dominated by Imperial Russia for years.They are talking about building anti missiles in Poland and Chzecs Republic,saying is to protect Europe from Iran.It is really stupid to think Americans are saying the truth,and the truth is that Americans want to control that area too,and surround Russia with missiles just in case there's a war or something.America should not do that !When America took over,Puerto Rico,Hawaii,Guam,Virgin Islands ,and many other countries Russia has never interfered with that.Now America should keep mum! Russia from now on will be tough on all the countries around their borders to protect themselves from any danger.Don't ever forget Russians are true warriors since ancient times when America was not even heard of.They sent the first man,the first woman,the first man made satellite to the space,and also the first man to walk in the space.I mean with this,they have the knowledge and ability to beat any country down!!Their warriors don't fight for money or citizenship,they feel what they do!
