Question:

Is Russia a danger for the future?

The Russian fate reminds me alot of Germany's after WW1. Germany was a strong, powerful, proud nation before and in WW1; they didn't have democracy before WW1 and when they got democracy after WW1 the country was poor, lost its international power and felt ashamed. When Hitler began talking about giving Germany power again the Germans didn't care about democracy they would rather their country to be rich and strong again.

Anything you watch about Russia today and anyone who talks about it after they've returned after the soviet union collapsed. You see how the Russians don't care about democracy as much and would rather their country to be strong again. Because they feel ashamed of how their country has become compared to what it use to be.

Is Russia like Germany? Will Russians prefere to have a strong country over democracy. Will they grow strong again and be aggresive. Putin has already been hostile to the west and has talked about pointing nukes at Ukraine because of disputes.

  1. Vladimir Putin is very aggressive towards the US. Since Vladimir Putin basically is the Russian government, I would say yes, Russia is very dangerous to the US.

  2. Countries can be strong without being aggressive

Countries like America feels threatened, and start rattling sabers.

Respect the strength of other countries without overreacting

  3. YES YES YESSS.. THEY ARE!

  4. why do you equate democracy with good country and non democricy as a bad country you can live in a communist country and be better off then in a democracy did you know america is not technically a democracy also russia is not a threat just because they disagree with the usa on certain subjects

  5. Well the world always goes in the same cycles of peace and war...we're approaching war again so get ready. Russia a threat? Of course, but to you? Well....become a friend

  6. the russians goverment is responable for the lack of power and money. they do not care about their own country and the people in it, alot of russians are very ashamed how useless there country is now.

but they are now getting stronger - winning the eurovision etc

they will soon begin to rebuild their country but it will take along time and a new goverment.

they will prefer to have nuclear power and strong gangs than a fair goverment, most of russia has become corrupt

  7. Absolutely wrong approach toward Russia..!! It is preposterous to post a question " Is Russia like Germany?". I would not make an attempt of comparison between the German history and Russia at present. Russians are proud ( most of them) of the path they chose after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Again I am rather confused from where you make such weird observations that Russians feel ashamed?!

More hostile and devastating from the policy of Bush...

  8. YES... because the failed policies of that moron George Bush and his WAR FOR OIL has upset the balance of power between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R.  and AmeriKa is too weak now to be a threat to EITHER the U.S.S.R. or CHINA.

  9. Good analogy, my friend.

Even if Putin decides to go the evil dictator route, he still has a long time to go.  Aside from a few aerospace programs that I'm aware of (PAK FA, etc.) their military is in shambles.

God knows how long it would take them to get it to a point where they can have a military parade without something inadvertently breaking down or blowing up like this month's parade.
