People need to realize just what Russia is really doing, they are acting out the Old Soviet Union, and trying to control the world.

For Russia it is about "OIL", Iran has threatened to cut off routes of delivery of oil for the west, there is another route that by passes Russia in Georgia, if Russia takes over Georgia they will have control of that route for the oil. Russia and Iran are allies.

And you can bet Iran is behind this also.

It is destabilizing that region much like US destabilized Serbia, so Russia destabilizes Georgia to keep it from qualifying  for NATO.

So Russia destabilizes that Region to keep control of its pipelines, much like US disrupted middle east oil.

The EU is guaranteeing Kosovo's independence, knowing that country is far from been a viable region.

The conflicts left over from the Soviet Union were frozen because the sides were evenly matched, now because both sides are proxies for others, US will initiate a new Cold War.

It may seem hypocritical, but there are times when idealism must become realism, so that big and small are left to sort things out between themselves.

A conflict where the balance is artificially altered by third-party military intervention will delay the only lasting solution - France has made the first step - US is taking the second step against its own advisers.

Russia within its right is legally able to respond in kind.

YES, that's what they had been planning to do for a long time, the Georgian's the US, Britain and Europe, to name but a few, were fully aware of what was going on and what the Russian game plan was, the Georgian's were told REPEATEDLY not to retaliate at this point, and what did they do? hense the Russians taking full advantage of the situation, this was all going to happen in time, it was a stupid mistake on the Georgian's part to jump the gun, whilst waiting to become members of nato, because they have not yet been accepted into nato, nato cannot defend them militarily, basically what the Georgian's have succeeded in doing is to P***k up a strategic vantage point for the west to defend itself from maniacs like Ahmadinejad in Iran, speaking of the devil, Ahmadinejad will be sitting back laughing his azz off.

Perhaps Russia launched a pre-emptive strike against Georgia to keep themselves safe from a terrorist harboring nation that has WMD's and is willing to use them.
