  1. No. The U.S. invasion had a stamp of approval from the EU as well as from NATO.

The Russian invasion had nobody but their own stamp of approval.

----Nitris is an idiot if she thinks Russia had a good right to invade a sovereign nation without getting approval from the EU and NATO  beforehand. Also, let me remind her that Iraq continually violated the agreements set forth after the invasion of Kuwait, and even Bill Clinton had ordered continuous airstrikes against Baghdad throughout his entire presidency.

----Brainstorm, Georgia's government was only trying to secure a very lawless region which saw kidnapping's homicides, and terrorist acts. This all took place on GEORGIA'S side of the border and NOT RUSSIA'S side of the border.

  2. You call that an INVASION?  Funny, I see pictures of russian and georgian forces next to each other NOT FIGHTING.  My favorite part is the blatant brainwashing with repeated flashing of "russian invasion", "21st century barbarians" and at the same time showing images of destroyed buildings in Tshinvali and not mentioning EVEN ONCE that it was done by the georgian military.  And if the georgian government is democratic WHY did they bomb their own people in Tshinvali?

  3. Iraq had basically ignored multiple U.N. resolutions over a period of several years.

I'm not aware of any U.N. resolutions regarding Georgia.

  4. No.  The Russians had a good reason for "invading" Georgia - Georgia genocided the Russian citizens of South Ossetia in unspeakable ways, and Russia came to the rescue.

We invaded Iraq b/c of the Bush family's personal vendetta.

Look into the news a little harder regarding Russia and Georgia.

You can give me all the thumbs downs you want, it doesn't change the truth.

  5. don't forget the UN, which sanctioned invasion of iraq.

  6. Chris G has a strange view of the EU and Nato.

Nato is a tool of the USA and the EU definitely DID NOT approve of the war against IRAQ.

France and Germany stayed well out of it. Remember Freedom Fries.

Some people have such a short memory.

The Russian invasion of Georgia is not the same as the US invasion of Iraq because the Russians are dealing with a problem on itheir own border in which some of their citizens have already been killed whereas the US invasion of IRAQ was thousands of miles away against a weak country which posed no threat to US citizens or US  territory even though Bush tried to link Saddam to Al Qaeda which was the biggest joke in the Middle East
