Is Rye Grass suitable for this condition? ANY INFO APPRECIATED!? EASY 10 POINTS!!!!?

OK i want to plant some rye grass in a paddock to feed some horses/cows. The paddock is very wet (like soaked) most of the time in winter atleast, and doesnt get much sun....will rye grass suit these conditions?

  1. yes they will hydrate your horses and cows fully


  2. Rye grass is used in the Canadian prairies to stabilize dry land that is inclined to blow away.

    It tolerates a good deal of drought.

    My expectation is that it may be best to provide some drainage in that paddock.  winter with wet roots is not often optimum.

  3. Hmmmm. If it's really that wet, rye wouldn't grow very well. Try a smaller patch in the corner of the paddock just to be sure.
