Is S chandepaul is of indian (from country india) decent?

I just thought his name sounds like an indian name... I have nothing against it of course, he is one of the best batsman of the windies team...

  1. He definitely sounds of Indian origin. If he were in India, his name would be written as 'Shivnarayan Chandrapal"!!!!

    But seriously, his forefathers came from India on the British ships and like alot of others, settled down there.

    He was born  in Unity Village, Demerara-Mahaica, Guyana

  3. Yes Shiv Chanderpaul is of Indian descent. Many people from Guyana are.  Shiv's forefathers probably settled in Guyana during the British colonization, when they were taken there as workers.

    Ramnaresh Sarwan is the same story as well.

  4. That's descent! I'm sure he's decent, lol. It says on Wikipedia that he was born in Guyana, & refers to him as being Indo-Caribeann.

  5. During colonisation of India ,many indians migrated to West Indies for work and then settled there.Probably this ancestors were indian.

  6. Several people from India emigrated to the West Indies long ago.  He could be part of a lineage there.
