Is SWP destined for another season of bench-warming ?

Shaun Wright Phillips left Chelsea to go to Man City, to get regular first team football. Now Man City are planning to become the Harlem Globetrotters of football, will SWP be playing for reserves again soon ?

i think once he keeps his form up he will definitely have first preference and besides none of the players i see on there target list is a winger like Phillips is so they may keep him in the starting 11 no doubt

I think he will be ok this season. If Man city spend the kind of money talked about next season, then i think he will have to find another club again.

I think SWP will be ok as currently Robinho plays just behind the main striker (a bit like Rooney at United). I think if he has a good season up until January then he should be safe but for how long who knows as its difficult to predict who they will bring in.

I'm going to predict he a success and will be in the starting line up in the future.

I pity the lad, moves from Chelsea for first team football and then incomes Dr Big Bucks signing one of the best players in the world for his position.

i think you maybe right. he is so fast but his finishing lets him down, i really hoped he would work for chelsea but the final ball is often poor.

also and its not his fault, he is just too small. shame great talent, i don't think its games he needs, its training and sorting out his finishing

i dind't see his goals for city so maybe he has it sorted, and just didn't suit chelsea. think there will be a few worried city players now.

.I don't think so.   After  all the hype and media mania has quietened down and the season gets running and City lose a couple of games

i think he'll be alright. When he was with us before going to Chelsea

he was a regular goal scorer , i also think its a case of wait and see

It to soon for us to  start blowing our trumpets . At the moment City are like a new toy to Dr Al Fa him

I think he will be playing most games until January when the owner buys someone better, I think if you had to choose Robinho or SWP it would be Robinho so I don't think he will get too many chances after January unless he impresses in the few months ahead.

Hope not. he is a great player , far too good to be sitting on the bench.

If he gets regular games i am sure he will be up there with the Best
