Is Salomon a good ski brand?

There is no best ski brand overall. There may be a ski brand that's best for you though. Your best bet is to demo them and see if you like them.

If we are talking specifically about Salomon skis, they have the overall reputation for being "lively" (as opposed to damped). Something like an Atomic or Volkl is more likely to be more damped.

So if you ski on relatively soft snow and you like an easy-to-turn, responsive ski, Solly's are a good choice. so are Rossignols.

Now if you ski primarily on hard surfaces, or if you're larger or heavier, or you like a damped smooth ride, you are probably better off with a Volkl or Atomic. You can hold an edge better with these skis, and they're a bit stronger.

The only real knock on Salomon is that for people who ski a LOT, say more than 25-30 days per year, Salomons tend to "wear out" faster than other skis. By wear out, I mean they lose their liveliness and become softer.  But unless you're an aggressive skier, this probably won't affect you that much. And unless you ski a LOT, this will take a few years.

I have owned 2 pairs of Solly's, Rossignols, Volkls and Atomics, and I have had great luck with the Solly's. I personally wouldn't ski them consistently on east coast hardpack/ice though. I prefer Atomics or Volkls for that.

One brand is as good as another. It's all a matter of preference and which skis work best for you. All of the top brands of skis are developed based on what skiers / testers want in a ski, thus depending on how and what you ski, there is a ski developed pretty much for you. It's just a matter of doing your research and demo'ing lots of skis to see which are best for you.

yes it good.... it is widely used and popular. U can see athletes also wear their gear at the winter olympics

I used to own a pair of snowboots that were Solomon, and I LOVED them!!! They were so warm and comfortable...

Which ski brand is the best... Well Salomon is not the best but it is still good. In my opinion the best skis are Atomic, and Fischer. But then again it all depends on you personal preference and skill level. Mountains will usually have demo days where a company comes in and you are allowed to try any of their skis. Call the mountain and see when these days are, that way you get to rent for free, and see what ski works best for you. Good luck in your search!
