My first 2 experiences with Mexico was in Nogales and Puerto Penasco. I really wouldn't want to take my kids to either one, I hope I don't offend anyone. But my husband was mugged in Puerto Penasco. In Nogales it seemed like everytime I turned around some one was trying to sell me presciption drugs. We went to Puerto Vallarta last year and we absolutely loved it! Safe, clean, etc. So, someone recently told us about San Felipe. So please share your experiences if you have any. Thanks

  1. San felipe is full of "gringos", it is safe but a lot of young people from USA go there to get drunk,  so if it is unsafe its because of that. For the mexicans dont worry, they are pretty good hostes. If you are taking your kids I dont recomend you this time of year, it is extremely hot, last time I went in summer I got dehidrated at the trip. Try to go at last days of summer or Autum. OOOh! the only thing im worried about going there are the "mantarrayas" dont remember how to name them in english...  once i went there, one pinched me at the right foot. Just dont get in the water if it hasn`t past over 12:00 pm.

  2. Ive been to all all those places, but San Felipe was by far the worse....the beaches are extremely dirty (dead fish/diapers). The hotel said it had a bar/restaurant and when we got there, it had been close for about 5yrs. It was extremely HOT about 117 degrees and we all got sick from the food. Do NOT go there....I know our 10 hr drive was absolutely not worth it....btw-i LOVED puerto vallarta too...
