SURF:

5-8 ft. - head high to 3 ft. overhead with occasional 10 ft. and poor conditions.

This Morning's Dawn Patrol: Choppy and blown-out conditions with nasty storm surf.

WEATHER:

Rain with very strong SSW winds 15-25kts, gusting to 30+kts.

SF-SAN MATEO COUNTY'S REGIONAL OVERVIEW:

Solid WNW swell continues with head high-double overhead surf but completely unsurfable conditions this morning. Its all torn up and blown to bits with sustained S winds of 15-25kts and gusting stronger with rain showers and very stormy conditions.

FORECAST SUMMARY:

FRIDAY: Solid WNW swell (280-310) but sloppy conditions as windchop joins in the mix. Mix up overhead surf at many breaks with sets to double overhead at standouts.

Winds: Heavy rain through the day and strong S to SW winds 15-25kts with higher gusts possible.

Special Advisory: High surf and stormy weather will lead to dangerous surf conditions over the next several days. As well, rain runoff will give high potential for dangerous water quality. Be wise and use caution.

Sounds like the wind and waves are good, but everyone says the water is cold.....i think as long as you wear a wetsuit and dont shart while sitting on your board (it may freeze and you may get stuck)..you will do allright

i've been there last year.. it was really cold in the water.. and the ocean has small waves..

after swimming and bodyboarding(even thou i cant) i got blisters and i was chilling. my skin got red dots in it and it was really itchy.

.plus the water temperature was a lot cooler than the air.
