Is San Franciso backing away from it's sanctuary policy?

According to this article, they are taking juvenile illegal immigrant drug offenders and turning them over to ICE. They've protected juveniles from deportation for 20 years....and now they've decided to change that policy.

What does this mean? Why are they reversing their policy? Is there a change afoot in San Francisco?

What's going on there?

  1. Wooo Whooo!!  I'll take the good news as a positive sign, even if it is a small morsel!  Report and Deport!

  2. I dont know, I'll just say 'thank you'!

What ever happened to Dog Tricks? She hasnt posted for a long time. Im just wondering because she once posted she was really ill and now shes gone. Has anyone heard from her recently?  just wondering...

  3. Maybe someone finally threatened to pull thier federal funding.  Oh well, maybe its wishful thinking....

I'm glad to see them finally take a step in the right direction, instead of their long standing policies of going against our laws and government.  I hope it continues.  Imo, they've gotten away with too much for too long.

  4. The police in many jurisdictions have said they will not prosecute or arrest people who are illegal immigrants.

This is so they can gain trust in imigrant communities.

In L.A. an illegal immigrant was arrested as such by the police because he was active in protesting misuse of police powers.

The police generally want to get rid of undesirables and find the legal system too slow, so they can arrest someone for drug use or, if they are illegal, have them deported...the latter is cheaper, simpler and quicker. Though for the police they want to arrest as many people as they can to get higher arrest rates...they have no interest in handing people over to immigration because they are not doing the thing that gets them promoted.

So they are possibly doing this as a campaign to clean up a neighborhood.

Anyway, if they are arrested, they go to jail, then latter they are deported as illegal...same difference.

  5. IDK, but I for one, am d*mn glad.  Maybe the tide really is going out and taking the illegals too!!  Deport ALL illegals asap!!

  6. It means the taxpayers of San Francisco are fed up with being the provider of social services to the homeless and third world refugees.

Big cities have problems enough without embracing foreign criminals too.

  7. The world is coming to an end, San Francisco has repented. Loss of federal funds probably.
