Is San Gabriel Valley the new South Central?

San Gabriel Valley (Rosemead, Pomona, Balwin Park, Morovia, El Monte) All has serious shooting incident this year, mainly due to active gang activities, is that soont the new south centra (for hispanc gangs)?

Hardly. If you think the SGV is ghetto, then you're forgetting that SGV includes San Marino, South Pas, Arcadia, Alhambra and a few others whose median incomes are pretty high.

There are bad places everywhere. Any city with a high rate of low education is going to have problems. The key to upgrading any community is to convince people to give a d**n about getting a diploma and a job. This is different from simply opening schools. you can open a three schools on every block, but if people don't want to learn, then they're not going to.

Did you notice that the communities I listed all have really good high schools?

Oh, except Pomona -- it's not SGV, it's Pomona Valley. Whatever, Pomona just sucks ;)
