Is Sara Palin just another example of Republicans' toe-tapping morality?

Palin confirmed that her 17 year old unmarried daughter, Bristol, is 5 months pregnant. And there is still question about whether Palin's 5th child, Trig, is, in fact, her daughter's also.

Now....I don't think getting pregnant out of wedlock is a horrible thing. (I don't think s*x outside of marriage is a horrible thing). But then again I am not a conservative Christian running around campaigning with a mask of high morality and ethics, either.

My question is do you agree that this is another example of Republicans' toe-tapping morality? (read Senator Larry Craig)

Anyway...I bet she taught her daughter "abstinence only" birth control. During her campaign for governor, she said she would only fund "Abstinence Only" s*x education and not "explicit" s*x education. Hmmm. We see how effective that is now, don't we?

  1. I dunno but I bet her daughter's pi$$ed! Not only has she got to keep the baby, she also HAS to marry the father. Ouch! Maybe she'll think twice about dropping her knickers in future. ROFL!

  2. It's toe tapping with John that got her in

  3. No

  4. Nothing is as bad as supporting Obama.

I intend to hold all of you accountable if the most unqualified person in all of Washington makes it to the White House.

  5. It most definitely is. For people who dislike homosexuality, premarital s*x, lying, etc. they sure seem to have tons of it going on. That's why I say never trust RELIGIOUS people.

  6. If a child of Sarah Palin's child can end up pregenant shouldn't we rethink the whole Abstinence only policy?

  7. "But then again I am not a conservative Christian running around campaigning with a mask of high morality and ethics, either."

Fond of those looking-down-from-my-pedestal generalizations, are ya?

  8. I don't think unwed pregnancies are that big a deal, but when it happens to someone who preaches abstinence until marriage, it is just f*&^ng funny

  9. Yes, it is and considering how Palin wants to ban contraceptives especially condoms the story is outrageous. Palin  is an inappropriate choice for a leader as she doesn't critically /intelligently discuss real world issues, her actions as a mother with her last pregnancy show she's illogical and more concerned with her politics than the well-being of her children.

Conservatives try and spin the teen pregnancy by focusing on Palin's daughter choosing to have the baby. While side-stepping the reality of uneducated and unprotected teen s*x and out of control growth of STDs in that population.

For the folks writing here that Obama's mamma was 17 when she had him, you are wrong! Ann Dunham was a couple of months shy of 19 and already a free-spirited upper-classman  at University (en route to a PhD) when she gave birth to Barack. Not the same, as Palin's daughter is still living at home and ostensibly  with a curfew under her parents watchful eyes.  Palin's 17 year old daughter is starting her senior year of high school in her second trimester of pregnancy.

However, both stories benefit the  pro-life case because Ann's rising to the challenge of raising her son in less than ideal circumstances resulted in our having Obama today!

Palin does seem shady. Worse still is Palin's claim that her water broke prematurely this April when she was 8 mos preggers with Trig. It happened before she was to give a speech in Texas! That's right Texas her 8th month!  Rather than going to the nearest hospital immediately with this high risk pregnancy (early testing revealed he had health problems, see link below) , she gave the speech a few hours after first leaking amniotic fluid. Then boarded a plane for an 8 hour flight to Anchorage then drove 50 miles to the medical center and the care of her "personal" physician. She claims to have consulted with this "personal" physician by phone while in Texas and he okayed her flights. Well, she must have searched high and low to find such a doctor who tells a woman beginning labor to hop a plane cross continent without even seeing her. A 44yr old woman in 8th month of a high risk pregnancy taking long flights is one of the most reckless things I've heard of.

Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And in terms of judgement, people would have to be nutters to vote for anyone who puts this Palin on the ticket. Talk of hideously bad judgement. Surely the stress of traveling contributed in Trig's premature birth (six pounds)

Also don't get how Palin's staff was shocked to learn of her pregnancy when she announced 7 months into her pregnancy. Supporters argue citing teens whose parents dont notice at all. Well a 44 year old woman with her 5th pregnancy is going to show very early on and is very likely to give birth prematurely. Even if she does 500 situps a day for 20 years, her abs are going to be too stretched from 4 prior pregnancies not to show from the end of 1st trimester!  Something is fishy there. Yes it is personal but I wonder about such a person who makes such choices and insists on controlling people's personal lives! Actually I'd like to not have to discuss Palin at all as leader. McCain should have just ruled her out.

I thought this was going to  be an interesting election focusing on  economy, health care, the war, etc. Instead by McCain choosing Palin, I as an independent am forced to stop looking at his platform altogether. Especially with his age and health (father & grandfather died of natural causes @70 & 61), I look even harder at his choice for a VP. I look hard at Obama's too as his parent's died young. In looking at Biden, I am quite confident in the ticket.

In looking at Palin, I am disappointed at McCain. Regardless of her politics, her risky behavior with her pregnancy tells me her all-concerned pro-life stance is just talk. I think more attention should be given to the fact that she knew that she had a high risk pregnancy but flew 8000 miles roundtrip in her 8 month. I can't understand why she would take such a risk with her baby. She's a Governor and able to be treated great by any hospital in this country (we should all be so lucky). Being that she was in Dallas home to the highly ranked (7th nationally) Baylor Medical Center and it's prestigious neonatal unit, makes me wonder about her judgement-- that she wouldn't stop by there for a quick check before flying back to her "personal" physician in the boonies of Alaska.  I just can't get my head around that....I'm sure there's more to it, and I'm also sure I don't want to know...I just want her to go away.

Maybe the Republicans are just trying to implode so they can lose gracefully and not have to clean up the cesspool they created with war and our economy. But if McCain drops Palin and puts someone who I would consider seriously as a President (and doesn't offend my maternal instincts), I would look at his campaing once again.

  10. I'm not surprised. Her daughters are HOT.

  11. Yeah,,,,Palin's daughter being pregnant is almost as bad as a democrat presidential candidate cheating on his wife while she is hospitalized with cancer and then lying about it.

  12. All I know is this is one kid I won't have to pay for all of it's life. nough said.

  13. It's hypocrisy to say the least. If this happened to Obama's daughter (if she were older), you wouldn't hear the end of it from the Bible beaters. But now that it happens to a Republican, they'll just shut up like they always do whenever they get caught in the act.

Obama's mother may have been 17 when she had him, but Obama's grandmother didn't push her morals on others like Sarah Palin.

Now, I don't like either of these candidates, but I don't like it when a supposedly moral person tells others what to do but doesn't act on her own words.

  14. wasn't obama a illegitimate son of a mother 17 lol

  15. Thanks for the 2 points. I have been seeing these same questions about Palin all day. These questions have been answered so many times it's rediculous. There have must been at least 1000 since 9 A.M. this morning from you guys.

  16. Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings.  It can happen to the best of folks.

  17. no.  this is an example of a family handling their business WITHOUT committing murder.

    bravo to them, i say.

  18. I think this is absolutely ridiculous. I have NO PROBLEM whatsoever with unwed pregnancies or s*x before marriage, but she is adamantly for no s*x education. What would happen if her daughter was even more naive and ended up contracting an STD?! I think she is a hypocrite that needs to look at her stand on that issue. Abstinence only education is COMPLETELY ridiculous. There is no way that teenagers ANYWHERE are going to obey that (unless they are extremely religious; you cannot push that on an entire population of highschoolers because they are not homogeneous in the least).

I think Palin is going to be seen as a hypocrite by both republicans and democrats alike.
