  1. She has some pros and cons, like everyone.

Her pros are that she is female and that she is considered to be a maverick.  She is young and fairly attractive.  She is a political outsider and a "dark horse".  She could sway some female voters and will most likely help keep Alaska a red state.

Her cons are that she is female and unfairly females get labeled as either week or b!t(hy.  So if she comes off as an attack dog she might turn people away.  If she goes meek she might turn people off.  It isn't right, but it is out there.  She also is considered a maverick and may not jell the conservative base of the republican party to vote.  She is also young and inexperienced so it will be more difficult, but not impossible for the republicans to use the experience ploy against Obama.

Overall it was probably a good choice considering the options but I don't think it will help him enough.
