I know she's second on the ticket, that's not the question. Is she ready if necessary?

  1. Well when you get down to it how hard can it be.

A problem arises and you either say yes or no.

You have 50% chance a getting things right.

You don't get that good of odds in Vegas.

    It's not rocket surgery.

Clinton did it while getting bjs for christ's sake.

  2. Imagine this scenario:

The situation in Ossetia heats up. Russia has already suggested that anyone providing arms or military support will be considered initiating a state of war with Russia. McCain is president.

McCain experiences massive heart failure in the middle of the night. He is 72 years old. He has the best health care in the world, but he is still a 72 year old man in a country where average life expectency for men is about 77 years old.

Palin becomes President and, all of a sudden, you have a face off between the US and Russia. Sarah Palin vs. Vladimir Putin (Medvedev is a tool; Putin is still in charge)...who wins that fight?

Is the smart money on the "Hockey Mom" who likes to play with guns and believes in creationism?

    OR

Is the safe bet on the KGB lifer?

Cons can say what they want about Obama's experience. Obama went to Columbia University and Harvard. The QUALITY of his experience is more valuable than Palins. They are not comparable in any way.

Deep in their hearts, cons know that this is unworkable. Of course she is not qualified to be commander in chief...unless she is commanding armies of reindeer and polar bears, she needs to go back to her day job as a mommy and the governor of the 600,000 Americans who call the Arctic Circle home...where she belongs: far away from the lives of civilized people who she cannot understand.

  3. No, because she is clueless. She has a degree in journalism. She hasn't even been around people who are in politics. The easiest place to get the job she got was probably Alaska. I saw some of her friends on TV & they are not the kind of people who discuss the laws of governing but more the tupperware type. She probably wasn't qualified for the job she had & I heard Alaska is in trouble financially. She has a bacholer's degree in journalism. She doesn't have good sense about anything I have heard about her. She had a tiny bit of power & got caught mis-using it.....I hope those people who prayed it would rain on Obama's speech pray for her to be VP so Biden will be instead.

  4. Beauty Pageant Runner-up? - check!

BA in communications from prestigious North Idaho College? check!

    Failed sportscaster? - check!

Lunatic fringe social views? - check!

Two-term mayor of a town of less than 10,000 whose biggest accomplishment was getting the state to donate a bicycle helmet? - check!

Half-term governor of a state with fewer people than many US cities? - check!

All form and no substance? - check!

Well, she's not qualified to be president, but she's a shoe-in for another term as president of the Wasilla PTA.

And you have to wonder about McCain and beauty queens. He ditched his first wife, swimsuit model Carol, disfigured in a car accident, and swapped her for beauty queen Cindy, and now he picks up another beauty queen to be his running mate despite having only met her once, out of all the indisputably competent and capable Republican women with long records of national stage public service. I mean seriously. At 72 you'd think McCain would stop thinking with his genitalia.

  5. Let's not talk about that.

  6. Is anyone out here or there that really is ready to be?

  7. she is not, but mccain is.

obama is less prepared than palin.

Obama lovers, could you please think of ONE accomplishment made by Obama that shows he is a worthy presidential candidate?

and Missy (below) I hope you actually dont think any republican, including Palin, is pro-life to such an extent so that a woman cannot get an abortion for a child that resulted from  rape.

dconstruct (farther below) -  You just stated that Obama's experience making him a worthy president was graduating college!  Wow, my nephew at princeton should run for pres. now huh?

  8. She is as ready as the Democratic nominee for President , maybe even moreso since she is 100% American and would not sit and watch as someone takes over this great country as a Mulim , who does not even know what race he belongs to, would be .

  9. Palin has been governor of Alaska for two years and before that was a 3 term mayor. When obama started his presidential campaign, he had only two years of senate experience and before that was a part of the state senate. So why exactly is Obama questioning her experience when they have almost the same resume and Obama is the one running for president. I guess the answer to your question is yes... and no?

  10. She's as ready to be commander in chief as Barbie. Out of all the prestigious and qualified women, McCain had to pick a former pageant princess? If he was trying to snatch all Hillary supporters that was a very dumb move. Hillary and Palin are two different women. One is qualified, the other isn't. One is pro-choice the other is pro- keep- your rapist- daddy -fetus.

  11. "...h**l hath no fury like a woman scorned...."

  12. She's ready to presides over the country the way she presided over her town and the state of Alaska - with deceit, incompetence and corruption.  Most people in Alaska might have a desire to rally around her now that she might be VP, but some are willing to tell the truth about her.  She hasn't even completed her first term as Governor and already she's involved in scandals and mismanagement.

  13. She certainly was not, and is not. the best choice for the job. If she is, then Faux News is fair and balanced (c'mon, no one--not even Murdoch himself--believes that for one second). IMO his choice was nothing more than a cheap political calculation--at the expense of (possibly) the security of our Nation. Shame on John McCain.

  14. Bill Clinton asked the same question... but directed it at EVERYONE.  "Is anyone really ready to become Commander-in-Chief?"

Well, she does have executive experience, has fought corruptions, oversaw the National Guard of her state, managed budgets, cut wasteful spending, etc.  She does lack foreign policy experience.

In regards to her experience... Obama lacks in all of those areas.

  15. No, she has no substantive experience about foreign policy, military and economics. The only thing she could be the commander in chief of is an ASPCA shelter. Although I am afraid she would treat the animals badly, too
