Question:

Is Sarah Palin really a home school mom?

Browsing through elections, somebody mentioned that the Republican Vice Presidential candidate home schools her kids. She would have a 14 and 7 year old of school age. Is this so?

If it is I think it would be a wonderful boost for the homeschooling movement.

  1. Huh.  No clue - I checked out some different things on her, and there was nothing listed one way or another.  I like what I read, though.

She sounds like a strong leader, someone who won't be swayed by the changing of winds in politics.  She also sounds like someone who will have a strong voice, which is good to hear.

  2. I don't think she'll be at all good for the homeschooling movement because she'll just reinforce the public perception that all homeschoolers are right wing religious ding dongs who don't want their kids to learn about evolution or anything not in the bible.

I wonder, is it the 17 year old who she was going to HS?

  3. shes still useless..c'mon alaska... thats a whole diffent country

  4. I googled Sarh and homeschooling and found this:

    Which led me to this:

  5. home schooling shoudl be regulated or banned.  If this is true, I do not trust her jugement.  Home schooling is usually a paranoid reaction to alleged problems in public schools that are actually non-existent or exagerated.  If your child is over twelve, they should be in a school that can offer them an array of opportunities not cooped up with the limitted experiences of their parents.

  6. One minute it's reported that she homeschools all five of her children and the next minute it's reported that her 17 year old daughter is pregnant by a hockey player "from her high school".

When the election gets this close. the bs is flying all over the place.

Maybe she tried homeschooling one time. Those who hate homeschooling will use it against her. Those who hate cons will hold her daughters' teen pregnancy against her.

Those who hate dems will find something totally unrelated to running a country to use against Obama, too.

It's pretty much a hater fest in politics. And the rebuplicans and democrats just take turns on who'll be stupid and who'll be evil for the time being.

I'm a libertarian. But I'll be voting McCain this time because I don't want Obama. He's too young and inexperienced in my opinion.  That's just my opinion and I have a right to it, as well as a right to my vote, but the haters will storm out and attack me now I'm sure.

Heads up for the ones who left false responses regarding social opportunities in homeschooling...I attended government schools myself, and my homeschooled sons have 5 times more opportunities for social life than were available to me in our schools.

4-H, Chess Club ( We teach this one.), Drama Club, Music, scouts, archery club, pottery, rocket club, library volunteerism (guess during which hours), large sports programs, etc.,etc. I only wished public schools had offered me so many social opportunities. Our homeschool group has 500 families and we are not in a large city. If you fear diversity, fear us. We're far from conforming to the herd. The resumes, transcripts, and S.A.T.s are smoking hot. Be very afraid. :o)

The face of education is changing mightily and those who resist change will be quite disappointed in a couple of decades. Myths of qualification are being blown away and lack of choice in education is being blasted to pieces. It's happening  every day. Get ready for a different distribution of power. We are forging an army out here, a much bigger one than you think. So many different groups, holding so many different worldviews, are networking together for change.

  7. If she is, that's just make me even more against McCain, and for Obama...

  8. She says she plans to homeschool.

The Libertarian candidate, Bob Barr, homeschooled his kids.http://www.onlinetimes.com/candidates/ca...

    All the best.

  9. I can't find anything about it except in a blog.  I'm not sure if they are kidding or not.  Here was a comment that was taken from the blog:

"Homeschool? I don't think so. This is a busy woman unless she hires her own private teacher. I don't care if she does or not but please get a grip. This woman is limited and can not possibly home school, grow her own vegetable, bake bread, make her own clothes and be governor of Alaska. Talk about super woman."

Again, that is a quote and not from me.

Edit: Sorry Violin.  I think we found the same source at about the same time.

  10. Sarah Palin reminds me of the Proverbs 31 woman.  I would be happy if she was a homeschool mom.

  11. I honestly dont think she has room to talk much, becuase just earlier today. Yahoo just announced that she 17 yr old daughter is pregnant!

This I find unacceptable.! For a homeschool mom, she shouldve taught her children all about birth control!
