Question:

Is Sarah Palin the first Affirmative Action Vice President?

When we compare her background to the 40+ other male governors and even some big city mayors who have city populations 8 times as big as Alaska, who can argue that this was nothing more than another example of Affirmative Action working in white women's favor, who is otherwise least qualified?

  1. Wow. Clearly visible projection. I like it. The Affirmative Action President, is what you're really worried about, isn't it?

  2. I question the judgment of the old man McCain in picking a mayor from small town Alaska to be his VP . What type of bad decisions  will McCain make   in  fixing this country economy or in a crises   with a nuclear super power like Russia it could  be a disaster .

    OBAMA/BIDEN 2008

  3. good point

  4. No, she was selected for three main reasons.

    1. Get the evangelical vote.

    2. Get some of the Hillary Clinton voters.

    3. Stood up to legislators to stop wasted spending.

  5. Are you forgetting about Geraldine Ferraro (1988)?

Or are you discounting her since she was VP candidate for a losing campaign?

  6. No.

Once you mention the population of Alaska, though, I must say your antipathy towards those not like you is showing.

  7. Wow just like how Republicans talked about Obama!

    Nice.

  8. Why couldn't they have picked Kay Bailey Hutchinson? She's a woman and much more qualified.

  9. Well that would put her on par with Obama then.

  10. i see your point, but i think mccain picked her as his

v.p. out of desperation. i think he feels getting

a woman v.p. will get him the clinton vote. remember,

    she got 18 million votes.

  11. officially, yes.

    unofficially, no.

affirmative action, officially, was created to help those who are less fortunate. unofficially, this only works in favors of "minorities." and by "minorities," i mean blacks and hispanics. if a white woman got a job, it wasnt by affirmative action bc accordin to the law, caucasians dont go under that category

  12. Have you forgotten Geraldine Ferraro?

  13. Only Obama is less qualified than her.

  14. nope

  15. thats why mccain chose that hot white lady to draw the white vote from Obama!

  16. No more so than Hill who reverse carpet-bagged it to NY as their partys selection because she was popular.

She had experiance doing what--where was she when pal Sptzer got caught-she didn't do her job and protect sleeze.

Any day now we're gonna have a health care plan-she has been working on it for -what-16 years now?

Isn't it obvious that those who get elected are in a popularity campaign more than anything else.

Nixon got elected over Humphrey based on what

    But Kennedy beat Nixon

Reagan , the actor, beat Carter

Theres no rhyme nor reason why who wins win-especialy if you loose.

If the candidate is a Female it's a 50/50 shot, they are people too and bout time .

  17. no, they had gore (hired the handicapped)

  18. With the possible exception of McCain, there is nobody on the political scene right now with a stronger record of reform and standing up to vested interests.  Isn't this what you want?

  19. She is sure more qualified for VP then Barack Obama is for any thing

  20. i don't really care. just another dumb republican. i don't know why McCain thinks he can just grab any woman and replace Clinton. he's rying to get the women's votes but its not gonna happen.

  21. She isn't going to be VP because McCain is going to lose BIG!

  22. Exactly.

  23. I just hope ppl REALLY take the time to actually THINK before they actually vote another REPUBLICAN into office. The VP knows NOTHING about running a country the potential pres will probably drop dead soon.

    SCARY STUFF>

  24. You can sure build a good case for that argument and the bottom line is, I agree with you. If Hillary became president she would have earned that right with years of national and international experience and a good education. If Sarah got the VP or POTUS job it would only be because McCain wanted a woman on the ticket who would get the social conservative dollars rolling into his campaign.
