  1. Not just a Horned God.

The Body of Pan, and the Trident of Poseidon, and other pagan deities.

I don't know where the popular "Red Body" came from though...

  2. The traditional image of Satan/the Devil is at least partly based on the horned gods of Pagan peoples. The popular image is certainly not biblical.

  3. Christianity didn't adopt all things they considered "bad" from the pagans.  For example, Easter and Christmas, those are originally pagan holidays.  It does make me laugh at how unoriginal Christianity is though.

  4. Not a copy as such - the Horned God isn't evil, he's just a male fertility symbol.

But the Horned God inspired the look of Satan.

  5. Satan doesn't have horns. He's a fallen angel, not a fictional cartoon character.

  6. Satan or Lucifer was the no 1 angel who led worship from the angels to God Satan got jealous and wanted to become God

God dealt with Satan and now Satan is trying to get back at God by destroying Humanity

  7. Yes. Everything Pagan was made evil, so they made the horned God of fertility (Cernunnos, for example) evil.

I'm just waiting for the thumbs-down from the Christians who don't even know where their religion came from xD

Looks a lot like the popular image of Satan to me.

    EDIT: Yay, got one! 8D

  8. i like satan, he's an individual

  9. are you high on pcp?

  10. Of course, that is common knowledge.

All the 'bad' things in Christianity stem from Paganism. The Christians tried to smear Paganism as a Satanic religion by turning all of the Pagan Symbol and Gods into evil creatures and symbols.

  11. No.  First of all, there is no being referred to by ancient people as the Horned God with the arguable exception of Cernunnos, whose name litterally means Horned One.  However, the name "Cernunnos" only occurs in one location EVER.  Not exactly a major threat.  He also has antlers, not horns.

In addition, the horned Satan is just one of many, many different common depictions of Satan.

It's unlikely he's a copy of Pan either.  While Pan looks a little more like the horned Satan, he was a fairly minor god.  Why would the Christians single him out?

There are a variety of deities in different cultures with horns.  We never accuse those cultures of ripping each other off, so why should we have a different standard of validation for accusations against Christianity?

This is one of those Pagan urban myths started by Margaret Murray and perpetuated by people who have no evidence for their claim.

  12. Personal relationship and all and now you're calling me fake :(
