Is Schalk Burger no longer playing Provincial Rugby for WP?

I know that he has recovered from his neck injury, so he is fit. However, I did notice that he has not been playing any Currie Cup matches. At first, I thought that this was due to it being a World Cup year, but I went to the WP website....and he is not even listed as still in the squad (neither is B. Paulse for that matter). Did these guys give up local SA Rugby?

Schala is playing in the Springbok squad - thank goodness. I think by the time the world cup is over it will be to late to play the currie cup. So no, I don't think he will be playing for WP this season.

I am glad to hear you are interested in WP. Schalk and Jean deVilliers are with the Springboks at their warm up for the RWC. Breyton Paulse didn´t have a contract for a long time but now WP took him back because they lost Brent Russell, who is going to play his rugby in England.

Burger and all the other RWC Boks are not included in any provincial squad as they are not available for the Currie Cup Competition. He has recovered and is playing for the Springboks at the RWC. In the warm up game against Namibia, he scored 3 tries, so he has recovered well.
