    Ireland is on an entirely different island than Scotland!

    England and Scotland share an island, Scotland being north of England.

    However, Ireland is an island to the west of England and Scotland.

    Ireland is a separate island to the west of Great Britain, including Northern Ireland and Eire.  Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, along with Great Britain.

  13. No it is to the north of England. Where as Ireland is off the West Coast of England just past the Isle of Man. You need to get an atlas too.

    A ferry connects the two islands - you can go from Larne in Northern Ireland to Cairryan in Scotland by FastFerry - this takes approx 1 hour. Scotland is approx 23 miles (not 500) from Irish land mass.
