  1. I actually like the guy. So having said that sometimes I am not so sure he is truly legit. He looks weak when he fights at 160 lbs.. at 154 lb he looked good... Not great! So if Mora is right and that was a C performance from him than yes we can expect him to do good. But if that was him at his best he may actually need to go down to 147 lb. Where Margarito and Cotto are at. I think thats probably his ideal weight but he wont go down out of respect for his training partner Margarito.

p.s. I would love to see him go against Mosley! Even though Forrest beat up Mosley a couple of times I think Mora would be the underdog, but if he beats him I think you have to label him legit!

  2. I dont know if he's legit yet but it good to see guys like him come up and want to be the best.....I think he can be another gotti at middleweight....He just may be that one star that we love in any type of sport.

  3. Kimbo would lay him out

  4. I think he is solid at 154. At 160 I don't think he has a chance against Kelly Pavlik or even Aurthur Abraham but he is defintely in the top 10 at the moment at 154. I know that should be an understatement since he has one of the belts but there are some better fighters in that division still.

He may have trouble with some younger fighters like Joel Julio and James Kirkland as well the top fighters like Cory Spinks, Verno Phillips and Joachim Alcine. I guess despite his success he is still unproven.

  5. I don't think he's "legit" as in one of the best in the world, but he would be difficult for just about anyone at 154 - 160 because he is so defensive, and moves so much.  He comes to a fight in condition to go 24 rounds, so he can move, lunge, and hold effectively for 12 rounds.

He doesn't have the ability at all to be effective early in a fight but he keeps his pace and doesn't let opponents get into the a consistent rythem, so he can steal fights with his pace and awkward style.

  6. Right now, the 154 pound division is very weak, but as far as him being legit at that weight, the answer has got to be a yes, and I don't even like him.  He just won a world title by beating the man that everyone said was number one at 154.  Granted, Forrest was past his prime, but he was still number one in the world at junior middleweight.  Mora is in arguably the weakest division in boxing today, but he IS one of the top fighters in that division.  I don't know if he beats the other top fighters in that division like Verno Phillips or Joachim Alcine, but he certainly has a good chance.  As far as him facing Shane Mosley (as it is rumored may happen), I really think that Mosley would school him.  Even though Forrest beat Mosley twice, you have to keep in mind, that was back when they were both in their primes and Forrest was a dangerous man.  At this stage of their careers, Mosley has much more left than Forrest and is currently the better fighter- that was evidenced when he lost a very close decision to Miguel Cotto in his last fight.  Mora would have a chance at beating Mosley and I wouldn't completely rule him out because he proved himself to be a good fighter in his last fight, but I really think that even at this stage of Shane's career, he is in another league- people said the same thing about Forrest, but the difference is that Shane has more left than Vernon did.

  7. Mora is definitely a legit fighter. Very awkward style, tough, and slippery defense in a way that's so unpredictable. I'm picking Mosley for the pedigree but Mora could easily be a few pounds bigger and be too awkward for Mosley.

Mora is a counter-puncher and fights long at times. Mosley doesn't do well against people who like to fight long and have awkward style. In any case, it's a close fight but I'll have to analyze Mora more to see.
