If it is used for both sexes is there a way to understand just by looking at the name written in Latin letters, I mean is there any difference in writing it, for example Hyun vs Hyn or Seunghyun vs Seung Hyun? Or maybe understanding if the person is a guy or a girl from the last name?

  1. It can be used for both sexes. Frequently it is used for guys but it's not definitely.

In general, Korean name is consisted in 3 character(of course in korean) 2 character for given name and 1 for family name.

Seung Hyun is his or her given name.

Some people use their name as Seung Hyun and other people prefer to use Seunghyun. Unfortunately, we never know his/her s*x from his/her name even though with the last name.

  2. it can be used as a name for both guys and girls, though i have seen that name more for guys than girls. btw, Seung Hyun and SeungHyun are the same thing, its just the difference in the way the name is written in Westernized format. i would say that the more common name for girls is Seung Yun rather than Seung Hyun. oh yea, Seung Hyun is the real name for SeungRi from the hot kpop group Big Bang in case you didn't know!! lol hope this helped (=
