Is Seven Sisters a nice part of London?

I'm thinking of moving to London. I don't know London very well but it seems very expensive! However, I've seen quite a lot of flats advertised in seven sisters that seem affordable, also in a place called Manor House which is nearby. Are these suitable areas for young professional?

The area around Seven Sisters in very multi-cultural and it is a very busy area. There is a large Ghanian community who live and work in the Seven Sisters area.

There is a tube line which is the Victoria Line and it goes into central London and south London. Also there is a national railway station and there are many bus routes which go to many destinations.

You could look in the area around Finsbury Park, and Manor House. A relative of mine bought a former Hackney council flat in Stoke Newington which is desirable area to live and expensive.

You could try the area around Holloway Road which is the west end of the Seven Sisters road. Holloway Road is a very busy alhtough there are many buses and a tube station is nearby.

You could try these areas: Dalston, Homerton and Clapton in Hackney. There are many bus routes in Hackney and an overground railway. There will be Underground stations in Hackney in the next few years.

I wouldn't like it personally.  Good points - it has a tube line, it's not going to take you long to get to work and it's cheaper.  That's it really.

You might want to check out slightly nicer areas which don't have a tube line but have a regular train service into central London which might be better.  It's basically a case of you get what you pay for in London and it is expensive but having a tube line can bump up what you pay considerably.  You could try looking around Raynes Park (near Wimbledon), Wandsworth (near Clapham Junction), Surbiton, Chessington, Forest Hill (near Dulwich), Streatham (near Clapham), West Norwood, Tulse Hill areas.

No Seven Sisters is in Tottenham, which unfortunately has a reputation for being one of the rougher areas of London.  Avoid it if you can!

The immediate Manor House area isn't too bad.  The tube station is on the Piccadilly line & there's good access to various parts of the city by bus, you're also down the road from Finsbury Park.  Seven Sisters is a bit rough but it's not as bad as it used be.    

When you're looking at Manor House, have a look around Lordship Road, which has some lovely houses & is within walking distance of Manor House tube station.  Also have a look around Stoke Newington, Finsbury Park and Crouch End.

There are cheaper nicer areas in london, south east there's Forest Hill, very close to Dulwich, thats cheap and nice, and leafy too!

They are rough areas, so if u dont mind being mugged or at least having to look over yr shoulder every 5 mins when out walking then fine. U're better moving to somewhere like Oakwood or Cockfosters.

If you don't mind living among ethnics and the brother's go for

it.But look out for bullets coming your way if you do.Personally i would rather sleep rough.

It's very handy if you want to pick up some dirty class A drugs, cheap prostitutes and hone your street fighting skills.
