Is Sexism now the greatest barrier in American politics?

I'm a Republican male, but even I noticed how harsh the media was on on Hillary Clinton compared to Obama. And now Palin is in the same situation. So is sexism the greatest barrier?

  1. I do think that it takes quite a bit for a woman to get into upper levels of politics.

However, just because a black man has come so far doesn't mean that race is not a factor.  There still aren't many people of color (and by this I am including Hispanics and Asians) represented in government.

When it comes to everything in this country, not just politics women are judged much more harshly than men.  Mainly, because in a lot of ways women are held at a higher level.  There is that saying boys will be boys, but there isn't anything remotely like it for women.  It's not just a political issue, it's a societal issue.

Doesn't it strike anyone as sad that Pakistan had a female president, and America has still yet to have one?  Seems odd since in recent times more women have gone to and graduated from college then men.  Seems we should have tons of women qualified to run for higher office.  Not just one or two.

  2. no, i'd gladly vote for a female president who had good ideas. problem is both of these women seem to be total dunces. hillary will destroy this country for sure, don't know too much about palin's politics - but i'm not fond of john mccain so she lost it when she started running with him.

  3. how did the media treat Hillary badly?

I keep hearing people say that... but not many examples...

the sniper thing... but that was about all I can think of...

Obama's had more heat from the media on the Muslim issue, Wright, Ayers and more...

  4. No, i think it's media coverage and lack there of.

Cynthia McKinney is a black woman running for president on the green ballot yet I bet most no one knows. I just found out too.

  5. Yeah of course, the liberals are usually the ones that scream about it and they are the ones pushing it now.

Palin would give one of the greatest speeches's tommorow night stay tune.

  6. Seems to be.

  7. Well it looks that way. Since forever. Black males were aloud to vote in 1870. Women got to vote in 1920.

I think that men think women are lesser people.

Look around the world. Women are no better than livestock in some countrys.

50 more years. Well be in there.
